Family Promise of Puget Sound

I. Severe Weather Threshold Criteria

For the purpose of this policy, Severe Weather is defined as the occurrence of either of the following conditions:

Snow: One (1) or more days of new snow accumulation totaling three (3) or more inches. Temperature: Two (2) or more consecutive days where the forecasted temperature is less than 32 degrees Fahrenheit.

II. Procedure When NO EMERGENCY HAS BEEN DECLARED

The following procedures apply specifically when the weather is uncomfortable, but the Severe Weather Threshold Criteria are not met and a formal Weather Emergency has NOT been declared by the appropriate authority.

A. Families

Family has a vehicle: The family is ineligible for building access under this non-declared emergency procedure. They only qualify to come for building access if a formal Weather Emergency has been declared.

Family does NOT have a vehicle: The family may qualify to come to the building for Self-Sufficiency activities overnight. Prerequisite: You must speak to and receive approval from both Night Case Managers (CMs) prior to offering the service.

B. Singles

Overnight Building Access: If it is not a formally declared emergency, overnight building access for single individuals is unavailable for any reason.
