Parkland Building Client Charging Station Policy
This policy outlines the procedures and rules for clients utilizing the device charging station located at the Family Promise of Puget Sound (FPOPS) Parkland Building.
1. Policy StatementThe FPOPS Parkland Building provides a secure charging station to help clients maintain communication and access vital resources. This service is provided with a strict requirement that all devices remain under the client’s supervision while charging, ensuring security, accountability, and the efficient operation of the facility.
2. Location and AccessThe charging station is located within a locked, staff-only office (e.g., the South East Office).
Only authorized FPOPS staff are permitted to enter and exit this office. Clients do not have direct access to the charging station location. Clients must request assistance from any on-duty FPOPS staff member to have their device plugged in or retrieved. 3. Client Procedures for ChargingRequesting a Charge: A client must hand their device and appropriate charging cable to a staff member.
Placement: Staff will take the device to the locked office and place it securely in the charging station. Client Presence Required: The client must remain inside the Parkland Building for the entire duration of the charging session. Retrieval: When the client is ready to retrieve their device, they must ask a staff member for assistance. Staff will verify the device and return it to the client. 4. Prohibited Actions and ViolationsNo Client Entry: Clients are strictly prohibited from entering the locked office where the charging station is located under any circumstances.
No Unattended Charging: Clients may not leave the Parkland Building premises while their device is charging. This includes, but is not limited to, leaving for smoking breaks, errands, appointments, or any other short absence. If a client needs to leave the building for any reason, they must immediately ask staff to retrieve their device before exiting. No Responsibility for Lost Devices: FPOPS staff is responsible for placing the device in the locked office; however, FPOPS is not responsible for any lost, stolen, or damaged devices or accessories while utilizing the charging station. 5. Consequences for ViolationFailure to adhere to the rule requiring the client to remain in the building while charging or any attempt to enter the locked office is a violation of this policy. Staff will immediately unplug the device and notify the client upon their return. Repeated violations of this policy may result in the suspension of charging station privileges.
